As i finish this book sadness overcomes me. The main character did intend found Ishmael and they resume what they were doing before but in a different conduction. Ishmael went back to the circus and is now locked up in a cage viewed as an animal. This didn't make any difference to the main character. He really wanted to finish up. So Ishmael went on, telling the main character the difference between the takers and the leavers. Soon the main character discover something new. "The taker are those who know good and evil and the leavers are those who live in the hands of the gods. Ishmael explain that even when the world was made, it wasn't just made for men. It was made for everything and that everything belonged to the world. But the takers who are us, our culture believed that the world belonged to us. There is tons of example of this. We BUY land and we throw TRASH all over the place. We live in this world as if its ours but it really isn't. We kill off everything that we don't need. That unless if they're useful to us then we don't want them. BUT that's not the bad part. The bad part is that we KILLLLL them. People back in the old days (those who hunted and gathered) only took things that they needed. Hunted animals because they had to get something to eat. NEVER have they took what isn't needed. This is whats wrong with our culture and THIS is the reason that things got to this way NOW. =)
It took me a few tries to fit everything that the author was throwing it me, but with some careful reading i got to the point. I'm very disappointed that Ishmael died because i love happy endings but i guess that dont happen so often. I loved this quote from the book, "WITH MAN GONE WILL THERE BE HOPE FOR GORILLA, WITH GORILLA GONE WILL THERE BE HOPE FOR MEN?"
I feel like that we all need each other in someways or form. Just like the world needs us to help it.
Chocolate lovers.

New Journal: #6
Near the end of the book, Ishmael began to act a little weird. First, he didn't tell anyone that he ran out of money for the office that he was renting. Then he went back to the circus without telling anyone. This surprised me, because i thought that he is going to finish up what he was teaching to the main character. The main character too wanted Ishmael to finish what he have started. So then he went in search of Ishmael, abandoning his work. First he try to contacting those who use to take care of Ishmael. This didn't work out that great, because they didn't know anything.
This chapter confuses me a lot. Nothing really happen much in the book. Beside from Ishmael talking to the main character so it shocked me. Shocked me greatly.
Question---
1) Why did Ishmael left all of a sudden?
2) Will the main character find Ishmael?

New Journal: #5
A lot have accured in Ishmael during these few pages. Ishmael got done explaining to the main character the difference between Takers and leavers. Takers are those want to to control their own life. These are the people who like farming. Leavers are those who want god to control their life and to live their life like any other animal. These are the people who like hunting and gathering.
As i reach near the end of the book; it started to become clear to me what message the author is trying to send out. Yet, there are still many confusions. There isn't much change in the characters. Ishmael is still being Ishmael. He still teaches but i feel like there's something big that's going to happen soon. The main character is still the main character. i feel like the author left the character's name unspoken for a reason.
Questions----
1) Why is the main character's name still unspoken of?
2) What is the message that Ishmael is trying to send?

New Journal #4
Ok, here is the updates on the book ,"Ishmael." Currently, Ishmael is still trying to get the main character to realize what he is missing in his life. Ismael showed the main character how humans are destroying the world. He also showed him why humans are destroying the world and why people don't even realize that they are doing that.
There is still only two characters in this book so far. One of them is Ishmael who is the teacher. He is trying to help the main character realize just what the heck is going on with his life and what is missing from it. Then there's the main character who's name isn't spoken of. He is the student of Ishmael who is trying slowly sucking and absorbing the knowledge that Ishmael is giving him.
I think that there is more to this book than what it seem. I also feel like you got to think really deep into everything that you read in this book, because there's just so much in it. Every time that I read a new sentence, there's always a new word there that i don't understand. This is astonishing, because it's really hard to have such good vocabulary. I predict that the main character is going to freak out when he learn the truth.
Questions----------------------
1) What is the solution to the whole mess that Ishmael is trying to get the main character to understand?
2) What is going happen when the main character realize that missing piece to his life?

New Journal #3
The section of the book that I read is about this animal name Ishmael whom is teaching his student about history. Ishmael told his student to tell him how life came to be. By doing that, Ishmael is trying to teach the main character the missing thing in his life.
There is currently two character in the book. One of which his name is not mentioned. The other character is named Ishmael. Ishmael is the teacher whom is teaching the main character the thing that he feel like is missing from his life. I feel like Ishmael is trying to influence the main character into what he think is true.
Question------
1) What is Ishmael trying to show the main character?
2) Why is Ishmael doing all of this?

New Journal #2
Many event is occurring in the book ISHMAEL. One of the most important thing that is happening is the "journey" that Ishmael is going to take his human friend. Ismael also explained about his past and how he became what he is. He explained that his previous owner realized that he wasn't just any animal but one that can think and reason. Soon his owner started teaching him how to talk. This process took a while but soon Ismael was capable of speaking. Soon afterward, Ishmael and his owner started to study together about things that went on in the world. Within some time, Ishmael surpass his owner and became a thinker himself. Even after his owner dies, Ismael is still in search of knowledge.
I feel like Ishmael is really smart, because of all the things he revealed about the world when he was talking. I also think that Ishmael have a lot of free time. Without that much time, he could of never thought about all those things that is wrong in the world.
I dislike the authors style of writing, because it makes you wait too long for the good part.
I predict that they're going on a long journey.
Questions----
Why the author pick Ishmael to be an animal?
Why didn't the author give the name of the human person.

New Journal #1
Title - ISHMAEL
Author - Daniel Quinn
I chose this book to read, because this book have a lot of deep meanings.
I had no idea what this author had in store for me.
I want to learn what kind of life experience that the author have experienced.
Journal #1
In the very beginning, the main character reads an ad which make him very very angry. Then he visit the place where the ad takes place, because it bugged him so much. Then he find himself in a room with an animal who explain about his past.
There were really only 2 character in the story right now. First there is the main character who's name isn't mentioned yet. Then there is the gorilla who's name is also not mentioned yet. I feel like there is much more to the story then what it is offering at the moment.
Questions ------------------------------------------------
Why is there a gorilla in the room?
How in the world can a gorilla talk?
Is the main character on drugs? O_o
